Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?

An accountant does tax returns. I focus on everything you need up to the point that the accountant takes over. Working with a bookkeeper to keep your finances in order and watch over your financial statements is much more cost-effective.

How much do you charge
for your services?

Everyone's needs are different. After we have discussed your specific needs and determined I’m the right person to help you, we will figure out the right fees. There is no “rate card” or set fee.

Do you work with your clients
in person or virtually?

Both. For the majority of my clients, our work is done virtually. Don’t worry, I stay on top of deadlines and projects even if you don’t see me! If you are in New York City, we can also work at your office if that is your preference.

What software do you use
for bookkeeping?

I use QuickBooks, which is the industry standard. We can conveniently share files over the Internet or use QuickBooks Online.

I’ve been burned before.
How do I know I can trust you?

I pride myself on my honesty and integrity. It’s why my clients are mostly from referrals from other satisfied clients and trusted accountants. I am always happy to provide references.

What if I want to try
bookkeeping on my own?

I can train you to use QuickBooks (which is more user-friendly than some other accounting programs) and have check-ins from time to time to review your work.
